What is Spiritual Healing?

Spiritual healing is not dependant on any religion, -ism, or -ology. The source of healing is seen as divine, but every individual has the right to their own understanding of the source. The word "spiritual" refers to that quality of spirituality implicit in the healing process.

Spiritual healing is the channelling of healing energies through the healer to the patient. Through "attunement" - a combination of empathy and intent - and by directing energy through prayer and the laying on of hands, the healer seeks to supplement the recipient's depleted energy. Spiritual healing re-energizes and relaxes the patient and assists the natural recuperative functions of the mind and body in dealing with illness or injury in the most effective way. healing may take place on an emotional, mental, and spiritual level as well as on a physical level. Aside from its value in relieving pain and restoring function, healing can bring about improvements in the patient's attitude, clarity of thought, and quality of life. Healing may not always take away a physical problem, but it will help provide the peace of mind, emotional strength, or fresh perspective to handle a problem. Healing may be given for any illness, stress or injury with often remarkable results. Healing may be conducted in the presence of the patient or at a distance. It is a completely natural therapy and may be administered side by side with conventional medical treatments or other therapies and may actually boost the effectiveness of other therapies.

What happens in a session?

The healers in the sanctuary focus on one person at a time. When you enter the sanctuary, please take a seat and remain quiet while healing is taking place. Relax while you wait to be called to the healing chair. A healer will call you forward and may ask you questions about your condition. When you sit in the healing chair, allow yourself to be receptive and affirm that you are receiving what you need for your highest good. The healing will start with the healer laying hands on your shoulders. Hands may then be placed on different parts of the body or slightly off the body as the healer works with the energy. No massage or manipulation is given, and no touch will ever be invasive. You may or may not notice the flow of energy. Sometimes patients receiving healing will experience pleasant sensations of warmth or coolness. A sensation of static-electricity or pins-and-needles is not uncommon. Others may only have a feeling of relaxation and comfort. Because healing has its origins in the divine, patients often experience a wonderful feeling of peace and spiritual upliftment. The length of a session will depend apon the individual's needs. The session will end when the healer verbally closes with a blessing. Although you may recognize immediate change, the true value of spiritual healing is not always immediately measureable. Healing energies will remain with you indefinitely. Remember to express gratitude for the healing energy brought to you through the healer.

Do I need to have faith in the healing for it to work?

A desire for the state of wholeness is ideal, since spiritual healing works in harmony with divine law and involves the free will of the individual. Although undoubtedly faith or receptivity does help, many people have been helped who had no faith or belief in the healing, or who may not have been conciously aware that they were receiving healing, as with the coma or absent treatments. Healing is a scientific process which works in accordance with the natural laws of the universe and as such does not require faith. As the patient starts to feel better as a result of the healing, faith in the treatment grows naturally.

How often do I need to have healing?

There are no fixed rules concerning the number of treatments needed to improve a condition. Most healers work on the basis of giving one treatment per week. Where necessary, as when the patient is in pain or the condition is chronic, treatments may be conducted two or three times a week. You cannot have too much treatment.

The main reason for meeting with Steve was that I had hopes of possibly hearing from my sister, who had recently died sixth months before. I had hoped that this experience would help me in my healing as well as the others in my family who were having a hard time dealing with the loss... Read More (opens in pop-up window)
